YOUNG Orkney musician Jeana Leslie, from Kirkwall, has taken the top accolade in the Radio 2 Young Folk Awards.
Singer, pianist and fiddler Jeana, 19, played in a duo with Siobhan Miller, 20, a singer and pianist from Penicuik who studies with Jeana at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. They competed alongside five other soloists and groups at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London’s South Bank last Friday, in the the final of the competition. Read the rest of this entry »
